The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

In "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind," a 2019 African drama film directed by Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sylvan served as the VFX Supervisor. Based on the memoir by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer, this film marks Ejiofor's directorial debut and was selected as the British entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. It received acclaim for its direction and acting.

For Sylvan, the experience in Malawi was uniquely memorable. Working closely with Chiwetel Ejiofor and the crew, he looked after the film's various visual effects challenges. His work involved typical technical aspects such as enhancing warehouse scenes, extending fields and crops, and adding atmospheric elements like rain. It was the small and close-knit crew and Ejiofor's down-to-earth nature that made this project a personal favourite, cherished both for its professional engagement and the enjoyable personal experience it provided.
